WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
WHAT DO YOU DO?
After 30-odd years in the fashion business, I started a new business at 62 running therapeutic and creative writing workshops and retreats that encourage everyone to write down their lives.
TELL US WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE YOUR AGE?
I’m just grateful I’m alive! I had a heart attack seven years ago and skin cancer and breast cancer two years ago. I love my work, it’s my absolute passion.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE NOW THAT YOU DIDN’T HAVE AT 25?
Confidence, a smoke-free constitution, three kids, a big flat in North London, freedom!
WHAT ABOUT SEX?
Oh I wish! Miss it tremendously.
Widowed 17 years ago, one long term relationship with ‘Rob from the Archers clone, few short term relationships with men who wanted to move in after couple of months – zilch for the last two years. 67 not attractive on dating apps, even though I look 55, allegedly. They tell me to get some up to date pics. Men my age look ancient. Bit of a conundrum.
HOW FREE DO YOU FEEL?
Positive, fit, happy, lucky. Very, very lucky.
WHAT ARE YOU PROUD OF?
My kids, my brain, my ability to mentor, encourage, inspire others.
WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED?
Work, reading, live music, travel, the sun [not the newspaper!]
WHERE DOES YOUR CREATIVITY GO?
Into my work.
WHEN ARE YOU HAPPIEST?
On a beach.
WHAT’S YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF LIVING?
Take a chance, jump. But be kind and generous to everyone, it’s worth risking disappointment.
It’ll happen but probably, later than I imagine. If I died tomorrow I would be proud of what I have achieved with the help of others, especially with the help of my children.
ARE YOU STILL DREAMING?
WHAT WAS A RECENT OUTRAGEOUS ACTION OF YOURS?
I have been remarkably well behaved recently. Normally my outrageous actions involved alcohol and young men!
